”You come into this life with nothing to learn; you have only to demonstrate what you already know. In the demonstration of it will you function it out, and create yourself anew, through your experience."
Neale Donald Walsch
Welcome, dear traveller into the virtual realm!
Whatever the circumstances of your stop here - be it intent, randomness or boredom - we invite you into our universe! A universe of expression through images. A universe in which we hope you find yourself, albeit in a single image!
So, imagine ...
Two workshops. The first one, perched in the attic of an inter war building, in the centre, lost in a maze of streets which seem to have descended from one of Eliade's books, facing - incredibly, paradoxically - the unmerciful roller of modernist urbanisation. Window panes encased in wooden rods, through which light is filtered when the shadows of the neighbouring buildings allow it. A wooden floor, walls shaded by time, an easel near the window, oils, pencils, watercolours, brushes ... the arsenal of a painter. A few paintings, forgotten in a corner... And the tranquillity of the last floor, interrupted by the hustle and bustle of the street or by the soft cooing of pigeons.
The second one, in the same building, on the same floor and only a few meters away, improvised up in a small room of obscure destination, at first. Which remained obscure, but literally, this time. Heavy velvet curtains stop the light from passing through the door and the small window. The acid bath, a few prongs for photographs, the guillotine, the developing tank, film rolls and the control lamp... Some photographs are attached to the panel, the most beautiful of the black and white or sepia series, returning that unique moment to the viewer - captured, immortalised on film. The door of this workshop, however, is less and less opened, as time goes by... The pictures are created digitally nowadays, and the colours, more often than not, take the place of the long forgotten dichotomous expressions...
The same art, the art of the IMAGE. And two facets, two ways of looking at the world, to perceive it, to give it back to the world, filtered through the artist's vision, through his emotional universe, through his creative power. For we are, all of us, creators. It is just that we - some of us - have forgotten it... In general, what we lack is the courage to manifest ourselves fully, to express ourselves, in the way that we know to be our very own.
And let's not forget the words of Gregg Braden: „Through our beliefs, we're the bridge between reality and all that we could ever imagine. It's the power of what we truly believe about ourselves that gives life to our highest aspirations and greatest dreams, the things that make the universe as it is. Our beliefs have the power to change the course of events in the Universe. And what we believe may be more important than what others consider as truth.”
Yours,
